Therefore I am confident, & I personally guarantee that every home WILL perform to our industry leading new home warranty. That is my promise, that is our promise. If anyone ever comes across one of our employees who cannot make that same promise, it should be elevated to their supervisor. On 7-30-2006, Betty White provided you with warranty information (our promise). Within 1 year of closing there were 2 documented warranty request, & both were promptly reported as fixed by the builder and the customer. Yesterday, over a decade later, a 3rd request was documented on 10-31-2018 at 10:53am. If you would like to see our promise that was given to you on 7-30-2006, please contact our warranty department at 903-839-3939."

"So, have lived in a Conaway home for 11 years. Had problems from the get go with a workmanship issue on a front bedroom. The roof was leaking around a dead space area. Unbeknownst to us they bandaided it 3 years ago only to allow a problem to fester for the past 10 years and create a huge hole (decayed wood) in our roof. Since it's a workmanship issue Insurance won't cover it and Conaway is saying we don't have coverage. Now I'm stuck literally with a bedroom closet pouring rain in through the roof while I take them to small claims court. I would NOT recommend these people as a builder nor will I ever use them again. And FYI, we are not the only family in my area having this issue. BUYER BEWARE!"

We have talked about this since we move a lot and would consider building this plan again. We would add 3 car or x-large garage, larger back patio, extra plug-in across from master bath toilet door and upgrade kitchen faucet. Minor things.

This is an area where we see the highest levels of customer frustration, & unfortunately, this is an area mostly out of our hands. We are not allowed to tell customers where to get a loan, but we can do a better job of educating our customers on which lenders have the best customer service records. We have had a few negative experiences from this particular lender, & have removed them from our preferred lender list. We will discourage future customers from using this lender.

Debbie and Mitch worked very hard to keep us happy. Superb customer service and they strived to keep their customers happy. Things were out of their control like the carpet installation guys and I don't fault them at all for that.

Carpet issues unsatisfactory. Contractor was very rude. Gave them several chances to fix. Not happy with carpet guys.

I am a recent Conaway first time home buyer and Mr. Porter met with me to review my 11 month warranty walk through.

I am very impressed with Mr. Porter!
1. He proactively reviewed my concerns prior to meeting with me and in doing so, caught several things that were overlooked by not only me but Conaway as well when the home was originally built
2. Mr. Porter was extremely informative and was more than willing to offer suggestions on current items needing to be addressed as well as other items, not warranty related, for which a novice such as myself could use some sound advice on how to handle
3. He repaired and replaced several warranty items and did a superior job in doing so! His attention to detail and drive for perfection is most appreciated!
4. Mr. Porter is very efficient and thinks outside of the box. He finds the best way to resolve an issue in the most effective way.
5. He goes the extra mile -- he went out of his way to help me in several areas (e.g., finding if and where extra paint could be found -- just trying to access this location was a challenge, advising how things are done, genuinely caring about making sure I am taken care of in a professional and fair manner, etc.)

Bottomline, I appreciate that you and Conaway employ individuals such as Mr. Porter. It is a great reflection on you as a manager and Conaway as a company as well.

"We take our warranty & customer service seriously and we don't like to see negative reviews such as yours. We value your comments, and we continuously listen so that we learn as much as possible. That commitment is why we recently won a national award for best customer service in the US home building industry. This is a good public conversation for potential buyers, & we wish there was a past thread for everyone to see. The issue that you brought to our attention years ago were not warranty issues. They were expectation & educational issues. Each of the items mentioned were out of warranty when they were brought to our attention. Rex called you several weeks ago and committed to send Ben out to educate you and to deliver you a home owner's manual that you probably never received from the previous owners. Ben contacted you 3 times and left messages, and you never return his calls. The statement that we do not honor our warranty is completely false. We still want to meet with you, so we can show you our warranty commitment in writing. We agree with your statement “do research”. We encourage every buyer to research their builder, to understand their warranty, and find out how they treat their customers. This is very important to anyone looking for a new home. With that said, our offer still stands. We still would like to meet with you face to face so we can give you a copy of our warranty commitment, & explain the warranty that came with your home."

Just like I thought I called that number in the Reply spoke with Rex Buttram and now it's over the 10 yrs and I am waiting on the Builder to get back with me. Obvious there is something Wrong I have paid to fix the Cracking Ceilings twice and they have both re cracked and Dual Pane "Contractor Grade" Windows Lost all Gas. Whatever you do think before you buy a Conway Home and do research......"

We admit that we did have extensive weather delays, and in some cases, really wet ground conditions, that prevented work all over East Texas. This was especially true in the Dallas area. We have implemented some new processes that will eliminate this issue and the results should begin showing up in our surveys soon. Thank you for your honest input. It is very valuable to our continued improvements.

I do understand the difficulty in the management of building several homes with only a few trusted contractors. The weather did add significant delays but it seems that my home was too far out to keep on schedule when it was dry.

After paying $1200 for a set of house plans and going to multiple custom builders for quotes, we found Conaway. We were able to watch 2 houses being built in our area. On our second visit to the Tyler showroom, we chose our dream home plan, picked all selections and paid the down payment (we trashed the plans we paid $1200 for). The entire process, from start to finish, was AMAZING! We had absolutely no issues! My husband and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in our dream home! It was most likely due to one of two factors. 1) a weather delay or 2) a Lender delay. Without knowing your identity, we can't say for sure. One thing we do know is that we have experienced a lot of weather delays which affected everyone in the area. This made construction scheduling a real challenge. If not a weather delay, it was most likely due to a lender delay. We have also had a jump in lender delays, especially with outside, unproven lenders. We have made changes to our preferred lender list, and we have implemented several new communication points to help solve these issues. As a result, we expect a strong jump in our 3rd party surveys by mid-2016. Thank you for being open with us.

The closing date seemed to be a moving target which made it difficult for us to coordinate our living arrangements and to schedule our move.

We looked at a few homes before deciding on this built house on the market. Ultimately, the spacious kitchen and energy efficiency sold me. The lot had a greenbelt behind it and you can't get that with every house. I loved how the neighborhood kept the trees throughout. We loved the updates that were done and enjoy the house every day!

We try to walk the home with each customer a minimum of 1 week prior to the scheduled closing. This allows us time to complete all items prior to closing. In some cases, closings are rushed, and if something is missed, we will fix it. To eliminate this potential problem, now we are performing customer walk throughs just after contract and in most cases weeks prior to closing. This helps to ensure the homes are complete at closing.

Many homes have been customized in the Dallas area, and the plan was most likely correct at the plan acceptance. The issue most likely stemmed from an incorrect estimate that was not corrected. The good news is that in rare events such as this, there are no additional cost to the customer. We are obligated to deliver the home as agreed to in our contract with the customer. If we mess up, we will fix it 100% at our expense. With that being said, thank you for promptly communicating your concern with your building team. That is why we give you direct access to them so issues get resolved fast.

The planning process would have been significantly improved if we could have met with the engineer instead of the salesman to get the house plans finalized. Also take-off of supplies was incorrect in that the studs were delivered twice for 9' walls instead of 10' walls.

Great Idea, & we agree 100%! We have recommended to Boral Brick, and even other brick manufactures that they begin placing QR codes on all of their brick samples which would link to a photo gallery of that brick on recent homes. This would be an improved experience for all. Thanks for the great idea!

The one and only thing I could recommend to the Conaway's is on photo's of homes (pamphlets and on website) make a spot where it describes the brick and stone colors used on that exact home. That was our hardest decision to make and the Conaway's have made some extremely beautiful homes that the brick, stone, trim and roof colors flow very very well.
